Enamelling is a cool thing. A speedy, transformative and mysterious process.
Here are some scraffito samples. Copper is covered in liquid enamel, allowed to dry, then drawn into. The drawings are then baked in a kiln around 860c for around 45 seconds.
I love the aged effect, and how tactile the shiny surface is. I love how a simple drawing is turned into something solid.
In opening the kiln door, removing the glowing metal, and watching it cool, you are recieving something from the fire gods. They have taken your work and breathed firey life into it. When it emerges, it has taken on a new form.
